Medicine shortages in pharmacies are worsening in Northern Cyprus
The healthcare and medicine supply crisis in Northern Cyprus continues to intensify. Pharmacists and representatives of the healthcare sector in the TRNC are sounding the alarm over disruptions in the supply chain of medicinal products. The situation with the availability of essential medicines in pharmacies is being assessed as critical.
Experts note that the current problems with the import and distribution of medicines are putting the health of local residents and expats who need regular treatment at risk. To solve this systemic problem, temporary measures are not enough; decisive and immediate intervention by the state is required. Government authorities need to develop an effective mechanism to support the pharmaceutical sector and make the logistics chain stable in order to fully eliminate the shortage of vital medicines on the island.
