Four people detained in three drug raids in Northern Cyprus
Police in Northern Cyprus carried out three anti-drug operations in Nicosia, Küçük Kaymaklı and Kyrenia. As a result, four people were detained after drugs and prescription medications were found.
During the first operation in Küçük Kaymaklı, officers from the narcotics unit seized about 25 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana. Two young men aged 23 and 20 were detained on suspicion of drug possession.
In Kyrenia, during a check on the grounds of a residential complex, police found about 28 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana in the possession of a 25-year-old man. He was detained.
Another operation took place in Nicosia. During a search of the vehicle of a 28-year-old driver, police found about 11 grams of synthetic cannabinoid, two handmade cigarettes containing the suspected drug substance, as well as six pills dispensed on a “green prescription”.
An investigation is ongoing in all three cases.
