Four injured after car overturns on the İskele–Famagusta road
The accident occurred at around 04:00 today on the İskele — Famagusta road. The car overturned, injuring four people.
According to police, 21-year-old Berfin Nur Kakun lost control of the car, registration number NB 802, at the St Barnabas roundabout. The car hit the kerb surrounding the roundabout and then overturned.
The driver and three passengers — 20-year-olds Melisa Nil Karakuş, Elif Aydın and Canpolat Aydın — were injured in the accident. All four were taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where they were kept under observation after receiving medical treatment.
In another accident on the Lefkoşa — Famagusta road, a car driven by 30-year-old Avni Yusuf Çiftçioğlu first hit the kerb at the Halkbank roundabout, then continued moving and collided with a steel barrier at the end of the road. No one was injured in that accident.
Police determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and refused to provide a breath sample. An investigation has been launched against him.
