Knife Attack at a Supermarket in Lefkoşa
A knife attack took place at one of the Metropol supermarket chain’s stores in Lefkoşa. Two people were injured.
According to police, the incident occurred today at around 11:45. For reasons that have not yet been established, a man attacked a woman with a knife, allegedly attempting to kill her. After the attack, he inflicted injuries on himself.
The injured woman and the attacker, both in serious condition, were taken by ambulance to Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa. Both continue to receive medical treatment.
The reasons for the incident have not yet been established. Police are investigating.
