Restrictions on the Girne–Değirmenlik mountain road extended until September 30
The Roads Department has announced an extension of the traffic restrictions on the Girne — Değirmenlik mountain road due to ongoing construction work.
The section between the Acapulco junction in Girne and the turn-off to Alevkayası will remain closed to through traffic for passenger cars and motorcycles. The restrictions will remain in effect until September 30, 2026.
It was previously reported that this section of the road would be closed until the end of August to ensure the safety of road users. The restriction period has now been extended by another month.
Drivers were urged to exercise caution, reduce their speed, avoid entering the closed section and comply with road signs and directions.
