TRNC artist Zühre Özkaraman takes part in international plein-air event in Samarkand
Turkish Cypriot artist Zühre Özkaraman took part in an international plein-air painting event held in Samarkand, and her works were included in the final exhibition.
The plein-air event, titled “Buyuk Ipak Yo‘li Gavhari” — “The Pearl of the Great Silk Road” — was organised by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, the Union of Artists of Uzbekistan and the International Artists Club.
The final exhibition opened on 26 August at the Dustmatboy Gallery. It featured works by 18 artists from Uzbekistan and 12 international participants, including Özkaraman.
During the plein-air event, the artists created works inspired by Samarkand’s architecture, history, nature and contemporary life. In addition, each participant created several works on a free theme in their own style.
