TRNC Parliament to Convene to Consider Amendments to Citizenship, Immigration and Housing Purchase Laws
Tomorrow, a session of the General Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic will be held under the chairmanship of Speaker Ziya Öztürkler. The special agenda includes the bill on amendments to the housing purchase law, which was returned by the president for reconsideration. MPs will also discuss amendments to the laws on the establishment of the Atatürk Teacher Academy, Public Financial Management and Control, the North Cyprus Accounting and Auditing Profession, and the Central Prison (establishment, duties and operating principles). In addition, the session will consider a draft resolution on the exchange of real estate properties in Alayköy registered in the name of the Supreme Council of Foundations (Vakıflar Yüksek İdare Meclisi).
In the voting and elections section, lawmakers will move on to the third readings of a number of high-profile bills that had previously been returned to the relevant committee for revision. These include amendments to the law on permanent residence permits, the law on foreigners and immigration, the law on citizenship, as well as the bill on the registration of births and deaths.
