Negotiations on Charter Flights Between Azerbaijan and the TRNC Near Completion

TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that negotiations on organizing charter flights between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus have reached the final stage. The head of government made the announcement during his speech in Baku at the Northern Cyprus Culture Days.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu also took part in the event. Üstel congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the upcoming National Salvation Day (June 15) and expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his support, and to Prime Minister Ali Asadov — for the hospitality shown.
The TRNC Prime Minister emphasized that after Northern Cyprus joined the Organization of Turkic States as an observer, bilateral relations with Azerbaijan received a strong boost, especially in the fields of education and tourism. Üstel called tourism the «rising star» in the interaction between the two republics and added that launching charter flights would be an important step toward strengthening economic and cultural ties, inviting people of Azerbaijan to visit Kyrenia, Karpas, Famagusta and Nicosia. At the end of his speech, the prime minister once again recalled the formula «one nation — three states», noting the unbreakable brotherhood of Turkey, Azerbaijan and the TRNC.
