First phase of the Kyrenia–Çatalköy road to be completed in August
The first phase of construction of the new Kyrenia — Çatalköy road, also known as the Kyrenia Eastern Bypass Road, is planned to be completed by the end of August. This was announced by TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel during an inspection of the construction work.
According to him, the tender for the second phase of the project will be announced in the coming days. After the contract is signed, the construction is expected to be completed within five–six months.
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı said that next year the road is planned to be extended to the Acapulco junction and connected to the mountain highway. He also noted that the project is being implemented using the TRNC’s own funds.
During the visit, government representatives met with entrepreneurs working in the construction area to discuss traffic management and possible adjustments to the project.
