Three 18-year-old foreigners detained in Ayia Napa attack case

The Cyprus Republic Police have detained three 18-year-old foreign nationals on suspicion of attacking a 47-year-old Turkish Cypriot, which took place early on Sunday morning in Ayia Napa.

The suspects were detained today under court warrants in connection with a case of grievous bodily harm. They are expected to be brought during the day to the Famagusta District Court for consideration of the issue of a remand order.

Recall that on Sunday morning police found a 47-year-old man with serious injuries on one of the streets of Ayia Napa. He was initially taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a brain hemorrhage and a skull base fracture. The injured man, who was in serious condition, was then transferred to Nicosia General Hospital.

According to doctors, the man remains in a serious but stable condition.

During the investigation, police established that the attack took place on Ayias Mavris Avenue, where the Turkish Cypriot was attacked by a group of people. The investigation is continuing by officers of the Famagusta Police Criminal Investigation Department.
