Reinforcement for the TRNC security forces: 175 new police officers and 25 firefighters sworn in

On 25 June 2026, the General Directorate of Police of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was officially reinforced with new personnel. A total of 175 police officers who successfully completed the basic training of the 66th intake and 25 firefighters who underwent training as part of the 17th intake took their ceremonial oath. Among the new law enforcement personnel, 113 were men and 62 were women, while the fire service ranks were replenished exclusively by men.
As part of the graduation ceremony, the cadets who achieved the highest academic results were specially recognised. The best in their respective intakes were police officer Barış Tekin and firefighter Okan Demirci, who were given the honorary right to attach name plaques to the memorial graduate tree on behalf of all their classmates. Second and third place in the police intake rankings went to Zeynep Yıldırımlar and İsrafil Mustafa Emre respectively. Among the firefighting recruits, Berke Dericioğlu, who took second place, and Numan Ceylanlı, who came third, were among the top three performers.
