Fire Near Tashkent Nature Park Rapidly Extinguished
North of Tashkent, in the immediate vicinity of Tashkent Nature Park (Taşkent Doğa Parkı), a fire broke out. Thanks to the coordinated and timely intervention of emergency services and local residents, the blaze was brought under control and completely extinguished in a short time. According to the police, the fire managed to damage an area of about 3 donums, destroying vegetation as well as several olive trees and a hawthorn tree. Park director Kemal Basat said on social media that the flames were stopped just three meters away from the area where the animals are kept, and expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in extinguishing the fire.
The report of the fire was received today around 11:00. Fire department units, the Forestry Department, municipal staff from Dikmen and local residents took part in extinguishing it. Police are currently continuing an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident, while work is underway at the scene to cool the ground. No one was injured in the incident.
Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş issued a statement thanking the fire and forestry teams for their dedicated work. He stressed that, due to rising air temperatures and drying vegetation, the risk of fires has now increased significantly. The minister called on citizens to remain especially vigilant in forest and rural areas, not to light fires in nature, not to throw cigarette butts away, and to immediately report any signs of smoke to the «Alo 177» hotline or other emergency services.
