Rumors that EU entry on “green passports” had been canceled were called fake news in Turkey
The Directorate of Communications’ Center for Combating Disinformation under the Presidency of Turkey (DMM) has officially denied rumors circulating on social media that, following a recent European Parliament report, the visa-free entry regime to the European Union was closed for holders of special (“green”) passports.
Key points from the agency’s statement:
• Essence of the denial: the European Parliament’s report on Turkey contains no decisions or recommendations that would restrict, suspend or отменить the current rights to visa-free travel for holders of “green” passports.
• Status of restrictions: all rules and rights for citizens entering the EU with this type of document remain unchanged, and no changes have been made to the procedures.
• Call to citizens: the agency urged the public to rely only on official sources of information and to ignore manipulative posts on social media aimed at creating artificial panic.
