TRNC Prime Minister extends application deadline for social insurance contribution amnesty until 30 September
TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that the deadline for submitting applications for an amnesty on social insurance debts has been extended until 30 September 2026. Payments under the approved plan must be made no later than 23 October.

The programme is intended for employers and self-employed individuals who have accumulated unpaid social insurance contributions. Applications are accepted by the TRNC Social Insurance Department.
For debts incurred before 31 December 2009, a 30% discount is available for one-time payment: it is sufficient to pay 70% of the amount, and the entire period will be considered settled.
For debts incurred from 2010 onwards, 90% of the penalty interest is written off: the payer must pay the principal amount in full and only 10% of the accrued late-payment surcharge.
There is also an instalment plan of up to 36 months, available in three options: 25% of the debt and 90% of the penalty interest, 50% of the debt and 65% of the penalty interest, or 65% of the debt and 40% of the penalty interest.
Üstel stressed that the government’s aim is “not to punish, but to make payment possible”.
