TRNC to mark Victory Day on 30 August: parade in Lefkoşa, Turkish Navy ships in Girne and Famagusta
The TRNC will mark the 104th anniversary of Victory Day on 30 August, with celebrations taking place in all six districts. The main event will be a military parade on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in Lefkoşa, starting at 10:00, while wreaths will be laid at the Atatürk Monument at 09:30.

Because of the parade, the section of Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard between the traffic-light intersection near Altınbaş Petrol and the Gönyeli roundabout will be closed to traffic from 07:00 until the ceremony ends. A detour will be organised via the Lefkoşa Northern Ring Road.
The district programmes were announced by Asu Muhtaroğlu, director of protocol and head of the Central Committee for the Celebration of National Days. In İskele, the ceremony will begin at 09:00 in Ecevit Square; in Lefke, at 08:45; and in Akdoğan, Geçitkale and Mehmetçik, at 09:00. Wreaths will be laid in Girne at 16:30 and in Güzelyurt at 18:00, at the Atatürk Monument opposite the district administration, after which participants will proceed to the museum.
There will be two ceremonies in Famagusta: at 16:30 at the Victory Monument and at 17:00 on Fazıl Polat Pasha Boulevard, featuring speeches, poetry, folk dances, a concert and a parade.
On the same day, two Turkish Navy ships will be open to visitors: the patrol vessel TCG Karadeniz Ereğli (P-1214) will be moored at Girne Tourist Port, while the missile boat TCG Meltem (P-334) will be at Famagusta Commercial Port. Visitors will be able to board from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00. In the evening, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Ali Murat Başçeri, and his wife will host a reception at the embassy at 19:30.
