TRNC Assembly committee approves one of two bills on security forces personnel
The Administrative, Public Affairs and Health Committee of the TRNC Assembly unanimously approved one of two bills amending the Law on Security Forces Personnel and placed it on the agenda of the plenary session. The second document passed only its second reading.

The meeting was held on September 8 at 10:00 under the chairmanship of Sunat Atun, a deputy from the National Unity Party (UBP). The agenda included two documents — Bills No. 429/5/2026 and No. 430/5/2026.
Regarding Bill No. 430/5/2026, the committee conducted its second reading. The document is not urgent, so its third reading was postponed until the next committee meeting: bills undergo three readings in the relevant committee and are only then submitted to the plenary session.
Representatives of the TRNC Security Forces Command attended the meeting as guests and presented the committee with their position on both documents.
UBP deputies Ahmet Savaşan and Fırtına Karanfil, as well as Devrim Barçın of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), took part in the committee's work.
