Graduates of TRNC vocational high schools receive separate quotas at Turkish universities for the first time

Graduates of TRNC vocational and technical high schools have received separate quotas for admission to universities in Turkey for the first time. Applications opened on August 31 and will be accepted until the end of the working day on Wednesday, September 2.

According to the TRNC Ministry of National Education, the mechanism was launched במסגרת a memorandum of cooperation signed with the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) under Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The aim is to enable graduates to continue their studies in the same fields in which they received vocational training at school.

Applications are accepted by the Higher Education and Foreign Relations Department. TRNC citizens, including holders of dual TRNC and Turkish citizenship, may apply for the quotas provided that they live permanently in Northern Cyprus with their families and are under 21 years of age.

A candidate must have graduated from a state vocational or technical high school in the TRNC, specifically in the field listed in the quota table next to the selected programme. The required average diploma grade is at least 7.00.

Graduates of high schools in Turkey may not apply for these places. The list of available places, required documents, selection criteria and admission procedure are provided in a separate brochure.
