Türkiye Allocates Separate University Quotas for TRNC Vocational High School Graduates for the First Time
Graduates of public vocational and technical high schools in the TRNC have been allocated separate quotas for study at universities in Türkiye for the first time. Applications open on Monday, 31 August, and will remain open until 2 September.

The places were allocated by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) under Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, במסגרת a memorandum of cooperation signed with the TRNC Ministry of Education. Applications are accepted by the Department of Higher Education and Foreign Relations and must be submitted in person.
Eligible applicants are graduates of public vocational high schools in the TRNC who live permanently with their families in Northern Cyprus, are under 21 years of age and completed school with a grade point average of at least 7.00. Graduates of high schools in Türkiye are not eligible for these places.
Behçet Çelebi, Director of the Department of Higher Education and Foreign Relations, noted that special quotas for the TRNC in this field had been allocated for the first time. He said the aim was to support graduates who wish to continue their education in fields related to their vocational training.
The requirements for applicants, list of documents, selection criteria, procedures for the allocation of places and enrolment, as well as the quota table for 2026, have been published in the YÖDİD–YTB guide for graduates of vocational and technical high schools.
