TRNC to open online applications for social housing in eight districts from 11 September
TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that online applications to participate in social housing projects will open on Friday, 11 September. Housing will be built in eight districts of Northern Cyprus.
The projects cover Girne — Dikmen, Çamlıbel and Esentepe; Famagusta — the Maraş district; Lefkoşa — Alayköy and Haspolat; İskele — Dipkarpaz on the Karpaz Peninsula; and Güzelyurt — Bostancı. Applications will be accepted online through the official website of the TRNC Ministry of the Interior.
“In the social housing projects that we relaunched after an almost thirty-year break, we are fulfilling our promises one by one,” the prime minister said. Before this, no social housing had been built in the TRNC for around 30 years.
In the same speech, Üstel reported on payments to citrus growers: on 10 September, they will receive TL 607,148,950 — around 75% of the outstanding debt owed to them. The remainder is planned to be paid in October.
