The composition of the Supreme Election Council (SEC) and district election committees has been announced in the TRNC. These bodies will conduct the early general and local elections on December 6. The council will be headed by High Court President Bertan Özerdağ.
High Court judges Gülden Çiftçioğlu, Tançu Öncül, Beril Çağdal and Peri Hakkı became the SEC’s principal members. Bahar Duatepe and Fatma Ş. Bedevi were appointed as alternate members.
District election committees have been formed in all six districts, each headed by the president of the district court: Dürie Elkıran in Lefkoşa, Fadıl Aksun in Famagusta, Nüvit Gazi Hacı in Kyrenia, Banu Söer in Güzelyurt, Musa Avcıoğlu in İskele and Pınar Beyoğlu in Lefke. Each committee includes two principal members from among the district court judges and one alternate member.
