TRNC Telecommunications Department: unpaid telecom bills must be settled by 15 September
The TRNC Telecommunications Department has warned subscribers with accumulated debts that they must settle their outstanding balance by 15 September at the latest; otherwise, voice services, data transmission and internet access will be disconnected.
According to the department, the disconnection will affect those who had not paid their bill by the end of July. The restriction will apply to all three types of services at once — voice, data and internet access.
A stricter measure is предусмотрена for subscribers who have accumulated debt for more than 12 billing periods, meaning more than a year’s worth of bills. Their lines will not simply be disconnected: subscriber agreements will be cancelled and service will be terminated.
The outstanding balance can be paid at the cashier’s offices of the Telecommunications Department or at partner banks. The department announced the deadline in advance so that subscribers would not be left without communication services because of overdue bills.
The Telecommunications Department is a government agency of the TRNC that provides fixed-line telephone services and internet access in Northern Cyprus.
