Fuel prices rise in Northern Cyprus: petrol increases by 6 TL per litre
Fuel prices have risen in the TRNC: new retail prices were published in the Official Gazette and came into force on 16 September. Petrol and Eurodiesel both increased by 6 TL per litre.
A litre of 95-octane petrol rose from 71.12 TL to 77.12 TL, while 98-octane petrol increased from 72.12 TL to 78.12 TL. Eurodiesel rose from 70 TL to 76 TL.
Kerosene (gaz yağı) saw the smallest increase, rising from 71.43 TL to 76 TL per litre, or by 4.57 TL.
The day before, TRNC Economy and Energy Minister Hasan Taçoy warned that the tariffs would be revised and linked the move to the global market: according to him, the price of a barrel of Brent crude had risen from 95 to 108 dollars. The final decision was made by the Council of Ministers.
