Turkey Allocates 80 Study Quotas for TRNC Students Based on A-Level Results
The Turkish Directorate for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) has determined quotas for applicants from the TRNC for the 2026–2027 academic year. Students who have taken A-Level exams will be able to pursue higher education at Turkish universities. The relevant agreement is based on the cooperation memorandum between the TRNC Ministry of Education and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism dated July 13, 2023.
Director of the Higher Education and External Relations Department Behçet Çelebi said that a total of 80 places have been allocated. Of these, 60 quotas are distributed across 37 fields under the «YTB Full Scholarship» (YTB Tam Burs) program, while another 20 places across 19 fields are provided under the «Accommodation Scholarship» (YTB Yerleştirme Bursu) program.
In addition to A-Level results, depending on the requirements of a particular university and faculty, candidates may also be asked to provide international certificates confirming foreign language proficiency — TOEFL iBT, IELTS, or SAT. The full admissions guide, selection criteria, and list of required documents will be published later on the official website of the TRNC Ministry of Education.
