Suspect in cyberattack on server detained at Ercan Airport
Police have detained a man suspected of installing malicious software on the main server of Ercan Airport.
According to police, on June 22 an unidentified person gained remote access to the operating system of the airport’s main server and downloaded a virus program. Investigators believe the malware was installed with the aim of later destroying data.
After receiving information about the incident, police launched an investigation and identified the suspect. He was identified as M.S.E., who has been detained. Investigative procedures are continuing.
