Worker injured in tyre explosion of fuel tanker in Akovou
A 26-year-old worker was seriously injured as a result of the explosion of a tyre on an empty fuel tanker in Akovou.
The accident occurred on the evening of 14 July at around 22:30. According to police, the man was carrying out repair and maintenance work on a tyre of an empty fuel tanker attached to a parked truck. During the work, the tyre exploded due to high pressure.
The injured man was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where doctors diagnosed fractures of his left leg and left elbow. After receiving medical care, he was admitted to the orthopaedic ward.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
