Elderly tourist dies in Alsancak
74-year-old tourist Rana Selek died following an incident while swimming in the sea off the coast of Alsancak.
According to police, the incident occurred on July 27 at around 13:00. The woman became unwell while swimming and began to drown. Bystanders pulled her from the water and provided first aid until medics arrived.
The victim was taken to Dr Akçicek Hospital in Kyrenia; however, despite the doctors’ efforts, she could not be saved.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
