Man Fined in Büyükkonuk for Setting Traps for Wild Rabbits
A 57-year-old man named G.K. was detained in the village of Büyükkonuk for illegally hunting wild rabbits. According to the police, he had set up nine wire traps despite the existing ban.
During the inspection of the suspect’s car and house, law enforcement officers found materials for making traps as well as a frozen rabbit. All items were confiscated as evidence.
By decision of the authorities, the violator was fined an amount equal to six times the minimum wage. In addition, a criminal case has been opened against him, and the investigation is ongoing.
According to current legislation, hunting outside the established seasons and the use of prohibited means of capture are strictly prosecuted. Authorities remind that such actions not only break the law but also harm the region’s ecosystem.
