About 800 kg of meat seized from supermarkets in Famagusta
Famagusta Municipality continues inspections of commercial facilities in collaboration with the Chamber of Food Safety Engineers.
Municipal inspectors, together with a food specialist, checked eight supermarkets, including their deli and meat counters.
As a result of the inspection, all stores were issued notices due to violations related to sanitary conditions, employees' health certificates, and business permits. The businesses were given a deadline to rectify the identified deficiencies.
Special attention was paid to the meat departments. During the control, it was discovered that about 800 kilograms of various meat products were stored in violation of temperature regimes and packaging rules.
Products hazardous to health were seized and destroyed.
