Third Stage of Large-Scale Road Asphalting Begins in Famagusta

The Municipality of Gazimağusa (Famagusta) has announced the start of the third stage of road surface renewal works. Road crews will begin laying asphalt today in the Derinya area, which is part of the Lala Mustafa Pasha quarter. The first site where repairs will begin is Vahit Güneri Street (Vahit Güneri Caddesi).

The repair works are divided by quarters and streets. As part of this stage, new road surfacing will appear in the following areas of the city: Lala Mustafa Pasha (Lala Mustafa Paşa), Harika (Harika), Anadolu (Anadolu), Pertev Pasha (Pertev Paşa), Zafer (Zafer), Baykal (Baykal), Sakarya (Sakarya), Karakol (Karakol), Çanakkale (Çanakkale) and Tuzla (Tuzla). In some of these quarters, road workers will complete streets that were not asphalted during previous stages.

City authorities emphasize that these works are not just a replacement of the old surface, but part of a comprehensive investment program to modernize infrastructure and create safer and more sustainable urban traffic. The municipality warns that during the repair period, traffic in the specified areas will be controlled and partially restricted. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to strictly follow temporary road signs and directions.
