Famagusta resident arrested for assault over girlfriend’s “late” arrival in the bedroom
In Famagusta, a young man identified by the initials D.K. has been taken into custody, accused of assaulting his girlfriend. The incident occurred on 19 June at around 18:15 in the suspect’s home. As police sergeant Emin Ozbilen told the court, a dispute broke out between the couple because the girl arrived too late in his bedroom, after which the man struck her twice in the face.
The detainee does not admit guilt. Since the investigation has only just begun and the police need to recheck the statements of both parties, the prosecution requested additional time to hold the suspect in custody. The court granted the request and ordered D.K. to be detained for three days to carry out the necessary checks.
