About 30 donums of harvested barley burned in Geçitkale
In the early hours of 5 July, a fire broke out in an agricultural field in the area of the Geçitkale — Sütlüce road. As a result, about 30 donums of harvested barley were destroyed by the flames.
According to police, the fire started around 04:00. It has been preliminarily established that the cause of the fire may have been a break in the wires of a medium-voltage power line. The wires that fell into the field are believed to have ignited the dry grass.
The fire was extinguished by fire service units. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
