Kandilli Street in Gönyeli Completely Renovated

The Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality has completed extensive works on Kandilli Street. The infrastructure and pavements were upgraded, parking areas were created, and the park as well as the sports and children’s playgrounds were improved. Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu said that the works covered everything from the street’s infrastructure to its public spaces.

The pavements on both sides of the street were upgraded, parking bays were created, and conditions for motorists and pedestrians were improved. The old children’s park was also completely renovated. A basketball court was built, new play structures were installed, and landscaping was carried out.

The slope where there had been a risk of landslide was reinforced with lawn pavers, making the area safer and better maintained. According to Amcaoğlu, following the completion of the works, Kandilli Street has become a fully developed public space with a park, sports and children’s playgrounds, upgraded pavements and parking areas.

«We changed not only the road, but also the life of the street», — the mayor said.
