The fifth international exhibition opens in Güzelyurt as part of the “Art Encounter”

An exhibition featuring works created by artists as part of the fifth International Art Encounter, organized by the Güzelyurt Municipality, has opened in Güzelyurt. The opening, held at the Güzelyurt Exhibition Hall, was attended by Assembly Speaker Ziya Öztürkler, as well as MPs, the district governor, members of the municipal council and numerous art lovers.

As part of the event, artists from the TRNC, Türkiye, Iran, Russia, India, Azerbaijan and Tunisia spent a week creating their works in the studios provided to them at the Güzelyurt Arts and Culture Centre. During the opening, appreciation plaques and certificates were presented to the participants and those who contributed to organizing the art encounter.

Güzelyurt Mayor Mahmut Özçınar noted that he was pleased with the continuation of the event, which has been held for five consecutive years in cooperation with artists Arif Albayrak and Mustafa Cihangir.

He also spoke about the ongoing construction of the Museum of Modern Art. According to the mayor, the museum will become an important facility for Güzelyurt and the entire region, and will make it possible to hold art events in more spacious and modern conditions.
