Committee established to develop the industrial zone in İskele

İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu met with representatives of local entrepreneurs and craftsmen to discuss the problems of the İskele Small Industrial Zone and plans for its further development.

The meeting was attended by İZEB Chairman Serkan Kırmızı and board members, Mehmetali Ardıç, Chairman of the Chamber of Turkish Cypriot Small Business and Craftsmen Representatives, and the chamber’s General Coordinator Hürrem Tulga.

The meeting addressed the current condition of the industrial zone, as well as the proposals and expectations of entrepreneurs. Key issues included connecting the industrial zone to the İskele — Karpaz highway, the area expansion project, the green zone project, as well as the condition of the infrastructure and pavements, waste collection and landscaping.

Sadıkoğlu stated that the municipality would continue to support efforts aimed at developing the industrial zone. According to him, joint work between the municipality and entrepreneurs’ organisations can resolve the existing problems and prepare the area for further development.

«Together, we will put the İskele industrial zone in order, develop it and make it stronger for the future,» the mayor said.

One of the main outcomes of the meeting was the establishment of the İskele Industrial Zone Committee. The committee was formed jointly by İskele Municipality, the Chamber of Turkish Cypriot Small Business and Craftsmen Representatives (KTEZO), and İZEB.

The committee will regularly monitor the problems of the industrial zone, develop proposals for resolving them and coordinate the implementation of projects. It is planned that the committee will hold regular meetings and address current issues promptly.
