In Lefkoşa, two shop owners held accountable for selling cigarettes to children
A court case has been initiated in Lefkoşa against two shop owners caught selling cigarettes and tobacco products to minors, according to the police press service.
According to law enforcement authorities, officers from the Crime Prevention Unit of the Lefkoşa Police Department, as part of the "Safe School" project, conducted an inspection and found that entrepreneurs U.S. (24) and B.K.S. (49) were selling tobacco products to children under 18.
Official legal proceedings have been initiated against both shop owners.
The report does not specify what penalties they face or when further court hearings will take place.
