Two drug operations carried out in Lefkoşa and Girne: two detained
Police carried out two separate operations in Lefkoşa and Girne, during which substances suspected to be cannabis-type drugs were found. Two people were detained.
On 15 August, officers from the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate searched the home where 30-year-old H.C.I. lived. They found around 300 milligrams of a substance suspected to be a cannabis-type drug, as well as a metal grinder with possible traces of a narcotic substance.

That same day, at around 18:00, officers from the Boğaz Police Station stopped a vehicle at the 5–6th kilometre of the Girne — Lefkoşa highway for speeding.
During the check, police noticed the suspicious behaviour of 33-year-old O.M. and searched the vehicle. Around 3 grams of a substance suspected to be a cannabis-type drug were found inside the car.
O.M. was also detained.
