Traffic restrictions in Lefkoşa this evening due to a race
A traditional race, “The Road of Resistance — 1 August”, will take place in Lefkoşa today as part of events marking the 50th anniversary of the Security Forces Command, the 68th anniversary of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT), and the 455th anniversary of the conquest of Cyprus.

Due to the race, traffic will be temporarily restricted in Lefkoşa from 18:30 to 20:30. Part of Dr. Naim Adiloğlu Avenue, a section of Osman Örek Avenue in the direction of the Metehan roundabout, Mehmet Akif and Osman Paşa streets, one lane on Cemal Gürsel Street, as well as the route in the area of the Kyrenia Gate will be closed. Detours will be organised via alternative roads.
Police urged drivers to take the restrictions into account in advance, comply with road signs and the instructions of traffic officers, and exercise particular caution in the event area.
