More than a tonne of undeclared tail fat discovered in a truck in Lefkoşa
Customs Department and Anti-Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Department officers discovered a large shipment of undeclared products in a refrigerated truck in Lefkoşa.
According to the police, the following items were found during an inspection of the vehicle belonging to a 46-year-old man:
- 1,116 kilograms of tail fat;
- 40 kilograms of «mercan» fish;
- 20 kilograms of large shrimp.
All of the products were seized as evidence.
An administrative fine was issued to the vehicle owner. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
