Open-Air Concerts to Be Held in Lefkoşa for European Music Day

To mark European Music Day, open-air concerts will take place in Lefkoşa at the Lefkeliler Hanı Square (within the walls) and at the Home for Cooperation (in the buffer zone).

Programme of events:
• Saturday concert: It will take place tomorrow evening at Lefkeliler Hanı Square with the support of the EU. It will begin at 20:30, with young musicians from the Turkish Cypriot community performing on stage.
• Sunday festival: On Sunday, the event «United by Sound Day» will be held at the Home for Cooperation from 17:00 to 23:00. The programme includes discussions, music-based interactive activities and live performances.
• Special occasion: As part of the Sunday event, the anniversary of the release of the Home for Cooperation’s first original song — «The Time is Ripe» — will be celebrated.

Essence and geography of the event:
• The «United by Sound Day» project is supported by the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus. Its aim is to bring together artists, musicians and guests from different communities, highlighting the unifying power of music and culture.
• In addition to Lefkoşa, festive events marking European Music Day will also take place in South Lefkoşa and Limassol.
