Tufan Erhürman’s meeting with the UN envoy begins at the presidential residence
Official talks have begun at the presidential residence between the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguín Cuéllar.
The diplomatic meeting is devoted to discussing the prospects for resuming a full-scale negotiation process on the Cyprus settlement. The head of state intends to clearly set out the official position of the TRNC, based on the principles of sovereign equality and equal international status of the two states on the island, as the main conditions for breaking out of the long-standing political deadlock.
