In Adana, 52-year-old former police officer Faruk Kayhan shot his 23-year-old son Ahmet Kaan Kayhan at point-blank range, after which he surrendered to the authorities.

The incident took place around 11:30 in the morning right in the middle of the street. According to preliminary data, the young man, who was struggling with drug addiction, was once again demanding money from his father.

After receiving a firm refusal, the son flew into a rage and attacked his father with a knife

The former police officer reacted instantly: he pulled a pistol from his belt and fired several shots at his son, wounding him in various parts of the body. The young man died at the scene from the injuries before medics arrived.

Witnesses captured shocking footage: immediately after the shooting, the man did not try to flee. He called emergency services himself, reported what he had done, and calmly stood over his blood-soaked son, scrolling through something on his mobile phone, until the patrol arrived. The former colleague handed over the weapon to the officers who arrived without resistance.
