Volunteers Continue Cleaning Beaches in Northern Cyprus
Coastal cleanup efforts organized every summer by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment are continuing in Northern Cyprus. Groups of young volunteers are taking part in the cleanup, working on beaches in five areas: Famagusta, İskele, Yeniboğaziçi, Gemikonağı and Tatlısu.
The work is carried out twice a day on weekdays — in the morning and in the evening.
Organizers note that the initiative aims not only to keep the coastline clean, but also to raise environmental awareness, foster a responsible attitude towards the environment and draw greater attention to the problem of beach pollution.
