Southern Cyprus launches programme to preserve the heritage of villages in Northern Cyprus
The authorities of the Republic of Cyprus have announced the launch of the Nostos 2026 programme, aimed at supporting projects related to the cultural heritage of villages located in Northern Cyprus.
According to the Deputy Ministry of Culture, the programme will provide funding for initiatives to preserve, document and promote tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Projects dedicated to history, oral testimonies, traditions, language, architecture and collective memory will be eligible for support.
According to the organisers, the aim of the programme is to preserve the cultural identity of these communities and pass it on to future generations through contemporary cultural projects.
