A section of Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in Nicosia will be closed tomorrow
Tomorrow, August 23, a section of Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in Nicosia will be temporarily closed due to a rehearsal for the official parade marking Victory Day on August 30. Traffic will be closed from 07:00 on the section between the signalised intersection near Altınbaş Petrol and the Gönyeli roundabout. The restriction will remain in effect until the rehearsal ends.
Drivers travelling from central Nicosia to the industrial zone will be allowed controlled passage through the intersection near Altınbaş Petrol. Those travelling from Famagusta towards Near East University are advised to use the Nicosia Northern Bypass and Near East University Boulevard.
Drivers travelling from Famagusta towards central Nicosia are advised to use alternative routes via Hamitköy, Mimar Mehmet Vahip Street, Şehit İsmail Beyoğlu Street, Şehit Mustafa Ahmet Ruso Street or Kemal Aksay Street. For travel from Famagusta towards Güzelyurt, drivers are advised to use the Nicosia Northern Bypass via the Gönyeli/Alayköy intersection, or the route via the intersection near Citroën and the Metehan–Alayköy bypass.
Drivers travelling from Güzelyurt to Nicosia should use the Alayköy–Metehan bypass or the route via the Gönyeli intersection and Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Street.
Those travelling from Kyrenia to Nicosia will be able to use the Kyrenia–Nicosia route — Nicosia Northern Bypass — Alayköy intersection, or travel via the Gönyeli intersection and Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Street.
Police are calling on drivers to exercise caution during the rehearsal, reduce their speed and follow road signs and the instructions of officers.
