TRNC residents outraged by limited e-Devlet password issuance hours

Citizens of Northern Cyprus have expressed strong dissatisfaction on social media over the fact that district administrations (kaymakamlıklar) stop issuing passwords for the electronic government system “e-Devlet” after 12:00.

One local resident, Kazım Ateş, publicly asked the authorities why the service is unavailable in the afternoon, given that the official working hours of public institutions last until 15:30. The man emphasized that the very concept of e-government implies round-the-clock access to services year-round, and wondered at what stage the system is failing.

Such restrictions are prompting understandable criticism from residents, who are forced to adjust their schedules to the shortened office hours in order to obtain basic access to digital public services.
