10th CAPO Rural Culture Festival in Protaras
The 10th Rural Culture Festival will take place on 2 and 3 October 2026 at Lefkolla Municipal Square in Protaras. The programme on both days includes stalls offering traditional Cypriot products, including palouze, soutzoukos, freshly made halloumi and village bread. Admission to the festival is free.
On Friday, 2 October, the sales and exhibition stalls will be open from 17:00 to 23:00. From 18:00 to 21:00, the “Along the Paths of Tradition” programme will take place with the participation of the EAC cultural club of Larnaca, Famagusta and Dhekelia, featuring Cypriot folk dances, songs and theatrical performances. From 21:00 to 23:00, there will be a concert by Frederiki Tombazou and Dimitris Mesimeris.
On Saturday, 3 October, the stalls will be open from 17:00 to 23:00. From 18:00 to 20:00, a traditional programme will take place with the participation of cultural and dance groups from Paralimni, Deryneia, Frenaros and Achieritou. From 19:00 to 21:00, chef Christos Christodoulou will give a cooking demonstration and prepare a traditional Cypriot dish, which will be offered to visitors free of charge. From 20:00 to 21:00, the official part of the festival will take place, followed from 21:00 to 23:00 by a concert by Christos Thivaios as part of his anniversary tour “30 Years — Only Opposite”.
