Ensemble Klang Systematiek Concert

On 2 October 2026 at 20:30, The Shoe Factory in Nicosia will host a concert by Ensemble Klang Systematiek. The performance will open the 17th International Festival of Contemporary Music Pharos.

The ensemble was founded by clarinettist Gareth Davis and brings together musicians with experience in contemporary classical, electronic, improvisational and experimental music. Its members include musicians associated with Klangforum Wien, Musikfabrik, Motorpsycho, Raster-Noton and ICP.

The programme features world premieres of works by Barbara Monk Feldman, Arturo Corrales and Stavros Choplaros, as well as Cyprus premieres of compositions by Jürg Frey, Oscar Bianchi and Kaija Saariaho. The programme includes Palindromon en Palindromo, Bass clarinet, Double-bass and percussion, Ephemeral tangibility, Foto Movida, Docile ascesa, Ciel Etoile and Lament, Remembered Otherwise.

Klang Systematiek is based in Prague and works throughout Europe. The ensemble explores the connections between written notation and intuition, composition and improvisation, performance and installation. Concerts are built around the interaction of music, space, light and perception; performers may be placed without a traditional stage arrangement, while audiences may move freely or stay among the musicians.

Tickets cost €25; the reduced price and the price for Pharos Arts Foundation members are €20.
