Turkey and Northern Cyprus to sign gas pipeline agreement
On Friday, Turkey's Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will pay an official visit to Northern Cyprus. The main event of the trip will be the signing of a memorandum on the construction of a gas pipeline between Turkey and Northern Cyprus.
The Turkish delegation will also include Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı.
The visit programme will begin in Ercan, where a firefighting helicopter will be handed over to Northern Cyprus. After that, Cevdet Yılmaz and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel will make a joint statement to the press.
There is also a planned meeting with President Tufan Erhürman, a visit to the integrated cold storage complex in Güzelyurt, the city’s new municipal building and the construction site of the new state hospital in Lefkoşa.
In addition, the Turkish delegation will visit the AK Parti representative office in Northern Cyprus.
