Siren tests will sound in Cyprus on July 15 and 20
The Civil Defence Service of the Republic of Cyprus said that on July 15 and 20 sirens will once again sound across the island in memory of the tragic events of 1974.
On July 15, the sirens will be activated at 08:20 — at the moment the coup d'état began.
On July 20, the signal will sound at 05:30 — on the anniversary of the start of the Turkish military invasion of Cyprus.
Authorities remind the public that the sirens are being activated solely for commemorative purposes and are not related to any emergency situation.
