21-year-old man dies after diving into the sea in Limassol
A 21-year-old Afghan national died after diving into the sea from a pier in the area of Limassol’s old port. According to Phileleftheros newspaper, the young man and a friend jumped into the sea from the pier around noon the previous day.
Later, other holidaymakers found both young men unconscious in the water. They were both taken by ambulance to hospital, but one of them died.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
